A Sweet Community Event to Benefit Lung Cancer Awareness

Calling all bakers and cupcake lovers!
Do you have the cutest cupcake of them all? Prove it!
Or, do you just like to eat cupcakes? No problem!


What a fun day! We hope everyone had as much fun as we did! The bakers really brought it in a big way! What artistry, creativity, and passion! What fun! We raised $1,000 for lung cancer awareness, and had a great time, too.

Thanks to all who made this event happen -  the bakers, Cornerstone Christian School for allowing us the use of their fantastic facility, all of the awesome JMU volunteers from Colleges Against Cancer and Gamma Sigma Sigma - you guys were awesome! Thanks to Lucas Roasting for providing the coffee that everybody LOVED, and Michele Argiro for donating a fabulous thirty-one thermal tote stuffed with goodies! Thanks to our great judges - George Hirschmann, Amy VanMeter, and Ronny Breen. It was a tough job, but you guys did great under pressure!

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported this great cause, especially the lung cancer survivors and others who were participating in honor of someone lost to lung cancer. It means so much to us to hear your stories and how lung cancer has touched your life. Thank you for being a part of this!

Tomorrow is the big day! Hope to see you there! Baker registration is now closed! We have 13 bakers (a baker's dozen!) with about 25 cupcake entries in all 4 categories. We have some great raffle prizes, and Lucas Roasting will be delivering some delicious locally-roasted coffee. We will be selling 6-packs of cupcakes to go while they last! (We will also have a limited number of take-out containers if you want to take your cupcakes with you).   Come on out, and bring the family!

Want to register or buy tickets, but prefer not to do it online? Call me and we can take care of everything- 540-246-5386.

Join us for a sweet competition where local bakers (both professional and amateur) will enter their cupcakes into one of four categories (below).

Judges will choose a winner in each category. Local cupcake lovers will sample cupcakes and vote for their favorite!

After the winners have been announced, we will have a memorial balloon release in honor of local lives touched by lung cancer.

All proceeds will go to support the Dusty Joy Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization devoted to raising awareness and compassion for those touched by lung cancer.

Tickets are $7.50 and include 3 cupcake coupons for your choice of cupcakes.

Children under 12 admitted free with paying adult (no cupcakes included with free admission, but a la carte cupcake coupons are available for purchase.)
